Brief: To renovate the key buildings of the almost abandoned Medieval hill top village of Castiglioncello del Trinoro in Tuscany, fulfilling the clients ambition to bring the village back to life by re-imagining the buildings as a hotel, private residences, restaurant and bar.

We created a masterplan for the village, aimed at restoring the buildings and attracting international visitors to this unique place. We designed a series of sensitive public spaces that would function to help the village celebrate its local culture, food and wine and to make the most of the beautiful landscape.

It now boasts a charming hotel, private accommodation, a restaurant, a bar and an Archeological Garden at the top of the village. The church has been restored and now hosts concerts and cultural events. An art gallery and further accommodation for tourists is still to come.
